Red Arrows to Fly Over Cambridgeshire Ahead of Clacton Show

The Red Arrows, the renowned British aerobatic team, will perform a flyover in parts of Cambridgeshire on August 22, 2023, as part of their preparations for the Clacton Air Show. The team will take off from RAF Mildenhall at 12:47 PM, making their way to Clacton for the much-anticipated display.

After departing RAF Mildenhall, the Red Arrows are scheduled to pass over Newmarket at 12:49 PM. Their route will then take them over Stratford St Mary and Great Bentley before they arrive in Clacton at 1:00 PM for the show. Following their performance, they will return to RAF Mildenhall, flying directly over Bury St Edmunds and heading towards Wordwell at approximately 1:41 PM, with a landing time set for 1:42 PM.

Afternoon Flyover and Potential Viewing Opportunities

For those unable to see the Red Arrows during the initial flyover, there will be another opportunity later in the day. The team is expected to depart RAF Mildenhall again at 15:25 PM, heading toward Feltwell at 15:27 PM. Their path will take them over several locations in Cambridgeshire, including Ely, Hemingford Grey, and Little Paxton, before reaching Bolnhurst at 15:33 PM.

After this segment, the Red Arrows will continue south of Northampton and proceed southwest, landing at Exeter Airport at 16:02 PM.

The timings and routes of the Red Arrows’ flights are subject to change based on weather conditions. Spectators can identify the Red Arrows by their distinctive BAE Systems Hawk T1 aircraft, which are often seen flying in the iconic Diamond Nine formation, making them easily recognizable.
