Lauren Goodger Faces Challenges Balancing TOWIE and Motherhood

Reality television star Lauren Goodger is navigating a challenging period as she balances her return to The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) with the responsibilities of motherhood. The 38-year-old, who rejoined the show last year after a personal tragedy, is reportedly feeling overwhelmed by the demands of both her career and raising her four-year-old daughter, Larose.
Goodger first gained fame in 2010 as the ex-girlfriend of Mark Wright and has since faced numerous personal challenges, including the loss of her second daughter, Lorena, shortly after birth in July 2022. This tragedy came just a week after the death of her ex-boyfriend, Jake McLean, in a car accident in Turkey.
Despite her ongoing struggles, Goodger has expressed gratitude for the support of her “TOWIE family.” A source close to her highlighted that while her role on the show is boosting her confidence, the pressure of juggling work and motherhood can be overwhelming. The source stated, “Lauren is overwhelmed – she’s overwhelmed with mum duties and with work.”
Challenges of Parenting and Career
Recently, Goodger had to cancel a scheduled appearance on This Morning due to childcare issues. The source noted she felt “devastated” for missing the opportunity, as she is eager to revive her career. “She doesn’t think it looks good to miss things, but she also needs to be the best mum to Larose,” the source added.
The reality star opened up about her feelings of loneliness and the difficulties of parenting alone. In a candid moment, she shared, “I haven’t got anyone to lean on and that’s really sad.” This sentiment reflects the emotional toll her situation has taken, especially as she tries to be a strong figure for her daughter.
Goodger’s challenges were further highlighted when she left for Portugal in the summer of 2023 to film for TOWIE without Larose. She described the experience as her first time away from her daughter for personal reasons, admitting to feeling “lonely” yet determined to pursue her career. Upon her return, she shared a celebratory post on Instagram, thanking her supporters and reflecting on her journey of self-rebuilding.
Finding Balance Amidst Hectic Schedule
Despite the positives, Goodger has also expressed feelings of exhaustion. “I’m so tired, I don’t know how I’m doing it at the minute,” she confessed in a recent update. The summer holidays for Larose and the demands of filming have made her schedule particularly hectic. “I haven’t stopped working. I wish I could have a nap but never. You know how it is being a mum,” she stated.
As Goodger continues to seek a balance between her responsibilities as a mother and her commitment to TOWIE, she remains focused on her personal growth. Her journey resonates with many parents who grapple with similar challenges, highlighting the importance of community support and self-care.
The reality star’s story illustrates the complexities of balancing a demanding career in entertainment with the responsibilities of parenting, particularly following significant personal losses. As Goodger forges ahead, her experiences shed light on the realities faced by many working parents striving for equilibrium in their lives.
