In a remarkable transformation, Vicki Ewart from Gateshead has lost an impressive 6 stone and now embraces an active lifestyle that includes walking up to 10 kilometers. Initially motivated to shed weight for her wedding, the 44-year-old sales assistant has discovered newfound comfort and health in her slimmer physique.

Vicki’s journey began with a desire to avoid being a “big bride.” At her heaviest, she weighed 18 stone 7 lbs and often felt self-conscious about her weight. She expressed, “It was horrible being overweight because I always felt like everyone would stare at you when out. I couldn’t run around or get on the floor to play with my children when they were younger.”

Over time, Vicki made significant changes to her eating habits. She replaced frequent takeaways, including her beloved Chinese and fish shop meals, with home-cooked, healthier options. Now weighing 12 stone 7 lbs, she has adopted a diet rich in protein, incorporating chicken, mince, and salmon, alongside plenty of fruits, vegetables, and salads. One of her new favorites is Cajun chicken pasta, which she enjoys preparing with various vegetables.

Transforming Health and Lifestyle

Vicki’s improved health has allowed her to participate in activities she previously struggled with, such as walking up hills. She reflected on her past knee pain and breathing difficulties, stating, “I didn’t really have any health problems that I can remember, but I used to struggle with knee pain and breathing walking up hills, which I don’t have now.”

Her commitment to weight loss began 13 years ago when she joined a Slimming World group. Attending classes at Sherriff Hill every Wednesday morning, she has formed close bonds with fellow members, whom she considers family. Vicki praised her consultant, Stacey Evans, saying, “Stacey is the best. I have always been at Stacey’s groups. She runs six sessions a week.”

Vicki encourages others to join Slimming World, reassuring potential members that they will feel welcomed. “You might feel nervous walking in on your first day, but you will leave feeling like one of the family. We are all there to support each other on good and bad weeks,” she added.

With her inspiring transformation, Vicki Ewart exemplifies the power of commitment to health and wellness. Her story resonates as a reminder that a supportive community can play a vital role in achieving personal goals.
