Major Supermarkets Launch Christmas Food Deliveries Ahead of Holiday
With Christmas approaching quickly, leading supermarkets in the UK have opened their online delivery slots for festive food shopping. Retailers such as Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco, and Morrisons are allowing customers to reserve slots ahead of the busy holiday season, ensuring that essential festive items can be secured well before December 25, 2025.
Overview of Delivery Options
Each supermarket has introduced specific timeframes for booking and delivering Christmas food. Advance planning is crucial, as slots may fill rapidly. Customers are encouraged to place their orders as soon as possible to avoid any last-minute disappointments.
Sainsbury’s began offering delivery slots to members of its delivery pass program starting on October 16, with general access opening on October 23. Deliveries are set to occur between December 18 and December 24. Customers have the flexibility to modify their orders until 23:00 on the evening prior to delivery. Sainsbury’s website advises that slots may fill quickly, recommending the Click & Collect option as an alternative. This service opened on October 23 for collections from December 18 onwards.
Asda has similarly opened its festive delivery slots to delivery passholders since October 15 and to the general public from October 21. Deliveries will take place between December 21 and December 23. Customers have until December 15 to finalize orders for Food to Order items. Asda offers an extensive Christmas range, featuring over 500 products, including unique items like a ‘Gingerbread Man-shaped Belgian Chocolate Mousse’ and ‘Turkey with all the Trimmings’ boxes.
