A woman from Danilovgrad has been arrested for allegedly stealing a gold ring valued at nearly €1,000 from a jeweller in Podgorica. The incident, which occurred on November 20, 2023, involved the suspect taking advantage of a moment of inattention from the store staff.

According to the Podgorica Police Department, the suspect, identified as B.P. (51), managed to remove the ring—worth €950—from the display counter before leaving the scene. Shortly after the theft, she sold the stolen item to an unidentified woman for just €100.

The police launched an investigation as part of their ongoing efforts to combat property crime in the region. They successfully identified B.P. as the individual responsible for the theft. Following the investigation, the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica issued an order for her arrest.

B.P. was apprehended by law enforcement officials and is now facing charges of theft. The case highlights the challenges faced by retailers in ensuring security against opportunistic crimes, especially in busy shopping environments.

The Podgorica Police Department continues to urge citizens to report any suspicious activities to help maintain safety and security in the community.
