ABC Deputy Lord Mayor Hosts Heartwarming Coffee Morning for Charity
On March 15, 2024, Councillor Jessica Johnston, the Deputy Lord Mayor of ABC Council, hosted a coffee morning to support the local breast cancer charity Pretty ‘n Pink. The event took place at Portadown Town Hall and attracted numerous supporters who enjoyed refreshments and home-baked treats while contributing to the charity’s ongoing efforts to assist individuals and families affected by breast cancer across Northern Ireland.
Community Support and Remembrance
During the gathering, a tree was planted in Edenvilla Park to honor those impacted by breast cancer in the local community. Cllr Johnston expressed her gratitude for being part of this meaningful initiative, stating, “It was an honour to participate in the tree-planting ceremony.” She added, “Thank you to Pretty ‘n Pink for all the vital work they do. Also, a big thank you to everyone that supported our coffee morning in Portadown Town Hall.”
The morning was filled with camaraderie and shared purpose, as attendees came together to raise awareness and funds for the charity. Local personalities and community members such as Doug Beattie MC MLA and Councillor Kate Evans joined in the festivities, reinforcing the community’s commitment to supporting individuals affected by breast cancer.
