Princess Anne Embarks on Australian Tour Amid Royal Celebrations

Princess Anne is set to arrive in Australia for a significant royal tour alongside her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. Over four days, the Princess Royal will engage with communities in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane before continuing her journey to Singapore. This visit marks the centenary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals, of which Princess Anne serves as Colonel-in-Chief, and coincides with various commemorative events for Armistice Day.

During her visit, she will participate in key ceremonies, including laying a wreath at the Sydney War Cemetery and another at the Anzac Memorial to honour Remembrance Day. This engagement occurs as her brother, King Charles III, prepares to lead the Royal Family in Remembrance events in London over the same weekend.

Princess Anne’s ties to Australia span over 55 years and include more than 20 visits, with her last trip occurring in 2022. This enduring connection follows a tradition established by her mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who made 16 visits to Australia throughout her reign, starting in February 1954. Added to the tour at the last minute, she joined her parents, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, along with her brother, Prince Charles.
