Acclaimed Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra Returns for Charity Concert
The celebrated Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra will perform a fundraising concert at Desborough Library on December 15, 2023. This event aims to unite the community through music while supporting both the library and the orchestra.
The concert will feature an array of festive tunes, carols, and popular pieces spanning classical music, modern pop, film scores, and big-band classics. With a diverse selection, the performance promises to cater to all musical tastes. The orchestra, nominated for a national award by the Royal Philharmonic Society, showcases a unique blend of six different types of saxophones, from the sopranino to the bass sax, producing a rich and vibrant sound.
Community Engagement and Support
Gil Holmes, Chair of the Desborough Library and Community Hub (DLCH), expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming concert. “We are delighted to be welcoming Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra back to the library to perform for us again this year. The Phoenix concert always feels like the start of Christmas for me, and we are all really looking forward to it,” Holmes stated.
Tickets for the event are priced at £12 each, which includes a complimentary glass of wine, beer, or a soft drink. They can be purchased directly from the library, by calling 01536 532415, or by emailing [email protected]. Doors will open at 18:30 for a 19:00 start. Proceeds from ticket sales will be split evenly between the library and the orchestra.
DLCH is a registered charity that has been managing Desborough Library since 2020. The organization aims to transform the space into a vibrant community hub for residents of all ages. The hub is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly to implement new ideas and initiatives.
Supporting the Arts and Community
