Police Arrest Driver in Ulcinj for Drug Use and Weapons Possession

Authorities in Ulcinj have arrested a 25-year-old man, identified as A.G., for driving under the influence of five different drugs. Police stopped him while he was operating an Audi vehicle, during a routine check aimed at combating drug abuse in the area. The incident occurred on October 15, 2023.

During the stop, officers discovered small packages containing what is suspected to be marijuana and hashish. Following the initial discovery, A.G. was subjected to a drug test, which confirmed his impairment due to the presence of multiple psychoactive substances. As a result, he was detained for violations of traffic safety laws, according to the Ulcinj Police Department.

In a subsequent search of A.G.’s residence, police found additional evidence of drug possession, including more marijuana, as well as two hunting rifles and a CZ pistol. The firearms were confiscated for preventive reasons and will be part of an ongoing investigation into A.G.’s activities.

The Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica has been informed of the situation. They have authorized further actions, including the issuance of a search warrant for A.G.’s property. Following the incident, a misdemeanor complaint was filed against him under the Law on the Prevention of Drug Abuse.

Police continue to emphasize their commitment to curbing drug-related offenses and ensuring public safety on the roads. As investigations proceed, they encourage community members to report any suspicious activities related to drug use or illegal firearms.
