Morrisons, one of the UK’s leading supermarket chains, has introduced a new travel booking platform that enhances its loyalty program and offers customers the opportunity to receive £5 off their next purchase. This initiative, launched in branches including those in Birmingham, aims to reward shoppers through a partnership with Expedia Group.

The new service, called Morrisons Travel, allows customers to earn 10 More Points for every £1 spent on a variety of travel services including hotels, car rentals, and activities. Points accumulated from these bookings will be displayed in the More app as “pending points” and will be credited once the travel has been completed. Additionally, the platform currently offers 1,000 More Points for each flight booking made.

Enhancing Customer Experience

Jamie Winter, Director of Procurement at Morrisons, expressed enthusiasm for the launch, stating, “We’re excited to be able to offer our customers even more reasons to shop at Morrisons with the launch of our new travel booking service, powered by Expedia Group.” He emphasized that customers can conveniently book flights and hotels while being rewarded through the More Card once their trips conclude.

The platform aims to simplify the travel booking experience, providing users with accessible and affordable options tailored to their needs. According to Morrisons, “Ready for an adventure? At Morrisons Travel, we’re your go-to for journeys near, far and everywhere in-between. Whether it’s sandy toes in Spain, big city lights, or a weekend in Wales, we’ve got it sorted – flights, hotels, car hire, trips. The lot. And the best bit? Every booking earns handy MORE points.”

Points Redemption Options

Customers who accumulate 5,000 points through the program can choose to either continue saving their points or convert them into a “Fiver,” a £5 money-off voucher that can be used in-store or online. This new initiative not only incentivizes travel bookings but also encourages customer loyalty within the Morrisons shopping experience.

With this strategic move, Morrisons is positioning itself as a competitive player in the supermarket and travel sectors, aiming to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction while providing tangible rewards for shopping and travel activities. As the retail landscape continues to evolve, such innovative approaches could play a significant role in attracting and retaining customers in an increasingly competitive market.
