Members of the public can participate in the Welsh Ambulance Service’s upcoming bi-monthly Board meeting. Scheduled for January 29, 2026, the meeting will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams, allowing broader access to discussions regarding the service’s operations and challenges.

During the meeting, senior leaders will provide updates on the service’s performance during the winter months, particularly focusing on initiatives aimed at reducing patient harm. A poignant moment in the session will feature a presentation from Judith, who will share her personal experience in contacting emergency services for her mother after a fall at home in Caerphilly. This experience has significantly contributed to the establishment of the Trust’s Falls Desk, a new initiative designed to improve response strategies for similar incidents.

Engagement and Insights

Chair of the Board, Colin Dennis, emphasized the importance of these meetings, stating, “Board meetings offer a valuable chance to deepen understanding of the ambulance service and gain insight into how key decisions are made.” He highlighted that these sessions not only foster transparency but also create opportunities for public engagement, allowing attendees to raise questions directly with Board members.

Individuals interested in submitting questions prior to the meeting can do so by emailing [email protected]. Questions must be submitted no later than January 28, 2026.

Participants can access the meeting on January 29 starting at 09:30 GMT, with the link becoming active ten minutes before the meeting commences. The agenda will be made available on the Trust’s website in the days leading up to the event, ensuring that attendees are well-prepared to engage in the discussions.

This initiative reflects the Welsh Ambulance Service’s commitment to community involvement and transparency in its operations. By inviting public participation, the organization aims to enhance its services and support for both staff and patients, reinforcing the vital role of the ambulance service in the healthcare system.
