Otrant Secures Autumn Title with 2-1 Victory Over Rivals
Otrant clinched the autumn title with a decisive 2-1 victory against their rivals, the team currently at the bottom of the standings. The match, held recently, saw Otrant overcoming early pressure from their opponents, who initially created more promising opportunities.
The visitors started strong, but Otrant’s breakthrough came in the 26th minute when Danin Talović controlled the ball with his chest and launched a powerful shot towards the crossbar. Goalkeeper Mario Camaj made a spectacular save to deny the attempt. In the 39th minute, Kijotaka Hosono missed a golden opportunity, shooting directly at the goalkeeper after finding himself one-on-one with Jasmin Agović.
The match took a turn in the 41st minute when Anđelo Rudović struck a brilliant shot from the right side, finding the bottom corner of the net to put Otrant ahead 1-0. Despite a strong start to the second half from the visitors, Otrant managed to extend their lead in the 73rd minute. Following a corner kick, Camaj misjudged the situation, allowing Benjamin Redžović to easily score, bringing the score to 2-1.
In another match, Grbalj triumphed over Rudar with a similar scoreline of 2-1. The game began dramatically, with Mateja Sekulić scoring an own goal in the 16th minute. This early setback allowed Grbalj to play with more freedom, ultimately securing their win in the 78th minute. Stefan Čađenović converted a low cross from Shinju Ueda to net the decisive goal.
Rudar fought back with a goal from Dejan Jovanović in the 81st minute, but it wasn’t enough to level the match. Meanwhile, in Podgorica, Lovćen edged out their opponents with a narrow 1-0 victory. The only goal of the match came in the 2nd minute from Bojan Kopitović, who scored with a well-placed shot.
Despite a valiant effort from Cetinjani, including a missed chance from Rado Drakić, they could not find the equalizer. The match statistics reveal the intensity of the competition, with teams fighting hard to secure crucial points as the season progresses.
As the league standings take shape, Otrant leads with 38 points, followed closely by Grbalj with 36 points. The current table reflects their dominance, with Otrant having won 12 out of 18 matches, boasting a goal difference of 30.
The upcoming matches will see teams striving to improve their standings, with a notable fixture set for Igalos against Kom and Iskra facing Berane. The competitive nature of the league promises more thrilling encounters in the weeks to come.
