Police Raid Security Team of Arrested Businessmen in Major Operation

Authorities from the Organized Crime Sector conducted a series of raids on March 14, 2024, targeting individuals associated with recently arrested businessmen Ranko Ubović and Veselin Kovčević. The operation resulted in the seizure of a firearm and further actions against those connected to the suspects.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement agents executed searches at multiple locations. They focused on members of the physical security team linked to the arrested businessmen. The investigation highlighted four individuals: D.K., M.M., and D.K., all former police officers, along with Z.V., a previous police officer who has a history of convictions for serious crimes. Additionally, N.J., a suspended police officer, was also involved.

During the operation, authorities discovered and confiscated a handgun from N.J. The police stated that appropriate legal measures would be taken regarding the firearm. The investigation aims to dismantle organized crime groups and their affiliates while enhancing overall security in the region.

The police emphasized their commitment to intensifying efforts to identify, prosecute, and disrupt organized criminal activities. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to promote the rule of law and improve the safety of the community.
