The romantic comedy The Wrong Paris has quickly become a hit on Netflix, amassing 12.8 million views since its release. This film, featuring Miranda Cosgrove in the lead role, has climbed to second place on the streaming platform’s Top 10 English Films chart. It tells the story of Dawn, an aspiring artist who participates in a dating reality show called The Honeypot purely for financial reasons, despite lacking any interest in finding love.

Veronica Long, who plays Heather, a sports bar bouncer and fellow contestant on The Honeypot, recently discussed her experience filming the movie. In an exclusive interview with Reach publications, Long praised Cosgrove for her collaborative spirit. “It was so lovely working with Miranda. She was so kind and easy to collaborate with,” she noted. Their camaraderie extended beyond the script, as the two often danced and joked between takes.

Filming in Vancouver brought its own set of challenges, particularly adverse weather conditions. Long explained, “So one thing about shooting in Vancouver is that it’s bound to rain on days that you don’t want it to rain.” Despite the difficulties, she found that these moments contributed to a stronger bond among the cast.

“Filming in the rain adds an extra layer of chaos and giggles and therefore fun,” Long remarked. She shared that the scenes involving a mud pit and hay maze were particularly challenging due to the weather. “The biggest challenge was to make it look like we were enjoying a sunny day on Trey’s ranch and not shivering cold,” she said.

The cast’s resilience was evident during particularly cold days when they had to film in a mud pit. “We were pretty intimidated by the idea of getting in this cold water and doing a bunch of takes, but the set design team was so kind and heated up the water for us,” Long explained. The locations team even set up a tent with heaters for the actors to warm up between takes. “It might sound contradictory, but the rain and cold contributed to our camaraderie by making us feel like we were in the trenches together. Call it trauma bonding.”

Long struggled to pinpoint a single standout moment from filming, highlighting instead the overall joy of working with a talented cast. “One of the best parts of working on this movie was collaborating with this incredibly funny and talented cast,” she shared. She particularly enjoyed her interactions with fellow actors, including Hannah Stocking and Yvonne Orji.

Long described brainstorming funny ad-libs with Stocking during hair and makeup sessions as a highlight. She also recalled her first lunch with Orji, where she found it difficult to eat due to laughter. “I could barely get through my meal, I was laughing so hard,” Long said.

With its engaging storyline and talented cast, The Wrong Paris continues to capture the attention of viewers. The film is currently available for streaming on Netflix, offering audiences a chance to join the fun and laughter that the cast experienced behind the scenes.
