Fans of the Celebrity Apprentice have expressed a strong desire for more episodes following the finale of the latest special, which aired on December 30, 2023. This edition of the popular BBC reality competition featured celebrities competing in teams to develop and market gingerbread biscuits for Children in Need. The return of the series, which had not aired in its celebrity format since 2019, has prompted viewers to call for future installments.

The Celebrity Apprentice franchise originally debuted in 2007 with a special titled Comic Relief Does The Apprentice, featuring notable personalities such as Piers Morgan and Cheryl Cole. After a brief hiatus, the show returned in 2019, where celebrities including Amanda Holden participated to support Comic Relief. This year’s edition saw a fresh lineup of famous participants, including Tom Skinner and Rob Rinder, who faced off in a creative challenge in the festive spirit.

The first episode of the latest special saw the celebrity teams travel to Lapland to create their own gingerbread biscuits. Each team was tasked with developing a unique product, producing an advertisement, and pitching to retailers to secure sales. Team one included JB Gill as project manager, alongside Matt Morsia, Shazia Mirza, Angela Scanlon, Sarah Hadland, and Tom Skinner. They created a biscuit named Gary the Penguin, incorporating bubblegum and white pepper flavors.

Team two, led by Rob Rinder, featured Charlie Hedges, AJ Odudu, Jake Wood, and Kadeena Cox. Their product, Jolly Mc Trouble, combined vanilla and Christmas pudding. Both teams showcased their promotional videos, with Skinner’s team featuring a humorous penguin costume that drew attention.

As the competition unfolded, both teams reached out to their celebrity contacts for support. Team one enlisted Rylan Clark and Gladiators stars for help, while team two received video messages from stars like Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman. Ultimately, despite Team Rinder’s impressive sales of 355,500 units, Team Gill triumphed with 452,000 orders, securing their victory.

Viewers took to social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on the special. Many expressed their enthusiasm for the return of the Celebrity Apprentice, with comments highlighting the need for more episodes in the future. User @sabrinajaine remarked, “As if the team with THAT advert won #CelebrityApprentice,” while @barandra34 stated, “I was enjoying this mini series of #celebrityapprentice – I wish it were longer.”

The positive reception of this special suggests that there is a significant appetite for more content from the Celebrity Apprentice franchise. As fans eagerly await the possibility of future episodes, the success of this latest installment has reignited interest in the show’s unique blend of competition and celebrity engagement.
