Criminal Charges Filed Against Cetinje Woman for Threats

The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica has ordered the Police Administration to file criminal charges against a Cetinje woman, identified as Z. D., for making threats against Milo Ivanišević. The charges relate to the criminal act of endangering safety, as revealed in a statement released by the prosecutor’s office.

On January 9, 2024, Ivanišević reported to the police that Z. D. had issued threats via the social media platform Facebook. Initial investigations indicate that the threats were not limited to Ivanišević and may have extended to other individuals as well.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the state prosecutor was informed about the situation and subsequently instructed law enforcement to take action against Z. D. This case was transferred from the Cetinje prosecutor’s office to the one in Podgorica for further handling.

In the threatening messages, Z. D. made alarming remarks, including statements about taking lives and references to violence. Some of the threats included phrases such as “I saved some human lives and I can take them with appetite,” and “I will suffocate you with them.” These messages have raised significant concerns regarding Ivanišević’s safety, as he expressed fear not only for himself but also for his family.

He emphasized that the threats have left him anxious about the potential for violent incidents reminiscent of past events in the region, stating, “I do not want a repeat of Medovina or the new January 1.”

Public safety officials are taking the situation seriously, reflecting broader concerns about threats and violence within the community. Such incidents highlight the need for vigilance and prompt action in addressing threats to individuals’ safety.
