Headway Jersey Launches Soup Kitchen Fundraiser in St Helier

Headway Jersey is set to host a soup kitchen fundraiser in St Helier on March 15, 2024. This event invites local residents to enjoy a variety of soups, with all proceeds directed towards supporting the charity’s wellbeing and rehabilitation services at its Day Centre.

Chefs from some of the top hotels and restaurants on the island will contribute their culinary talents. Notable participants include Will Holland from The Atlantic Hotel and Tom Radiguet from Tavola. Additionally, culinary students from Highlands College, under the guidance of chef Dom Farrell, will provide their own soup creations. The event will also offer an assortment of cakes and cookies from local bakeries, adding to the appealing menu.

The soup kitchen will take place at Charing Cross, outside the Santander Work Café, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This initiative not only aims to raise funds but also serves to bring the community together, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and support.

Headway Jersey’s Day Centre plays a crucial role in the lives of many Islanders. It supports over 40 individuals each week who are recovering from or living with brain injuries, strokes, road accidents, or trauma. The centre focuses on enhancing the quality of life for its clients through specialized rehabilitation, physiotherapy, cognitive and emotional support, and social connections.

By participating in the soup kitchen, attendees will contribute directly to these vital services. The fundraiser represents more than just a meal; it embodies a collective effort to uplift those facing challenges in their recovery journeys.
