Las Vegas Club Offers Free Lap Dances to Furloughed Workers

A renowned Las Vegas strip club, Crazy Horse 3, is providing support to U.S. government workers impacted by the ongoing federal shutdown by offering complimentary lap dances. As of October 1, 2023, thousands of federal employees have found themselves either furloughed or working without pay due to a failure among Senators to reach a funding agreement.
The initiative, dubbed “Strippers Against Shutdowns,” allows unpaid and furloughed government staff to enjoy a free lap dance simply by presenting a valid government-issued identification. Crazy Horse 3 owner Nando Sostilio emphasized that the campaign reflects the spirit of Las Vegas, stating, “Las Vegas has always been about taking care of people who work hard. Right now, a lot of our instrumental federal employees who keep this country running are feeling the impact of politics putting paychecks on pause.”
The current shutdown marks the first in nearly seven years, disrupting numerous non-essential government operations. Several significant institutions, including Smithsonian museums, research centers, and the National Zoo, have been forced to close their doors. Past shutdowns have also led to significant air travel disruptions due to staff shortages.
Lawmakers were unable to agree on a Republican proposal that would have temporarily maintained government funding at existing levels. The measure required 60 votes to pass in the Senate but fell short with a vote of 55-45.
Unique Approach to Support Federal Employees
This is not the first time Crazy Horse 3 has implemented a creative campaign to attract patrons. Earlier this year, the club introduced an interactive VIP room featuring amenities such as a Wii console, a PlayStation, a karaoke machine, and even a Twister game. However, this experience comes at a cost, as guests are required to spend a minimum of $500 on drinks, with access granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sostilio described the VIP room concept as a blend of luxury and excitement, stating, “By blending interactive party amenities like karaoke with strippers and video games for thrilling gaming duels with your favorite entertainer, we’ve created a one-of-a-kind environment.”
As the government shutdown continues to affect many workers, Crazy Horse 3’s initiative serves as an unconventional yet engaging way to offer support and remind the public of the importance of entertainment, even in challenging times.
