Paradise Tattoo Studio in Cheltenham is set to host its annual charity flash tattoo day on October 4, 2025, aiming to raise funds for the Mastectomy Tattooing Alliance (MTA). This event, taking place at 5 Bath Street, will run from 10:00 to 19:00, offering walk-in appointments only. Last year, the studio raised an impressive £2,215, and this year, they hope to exceed that amount as they support a vital cause.

The MTA, founded in 2021 by award-winning tattoo artist Tanya Buxton, is a UK charity focused on raising awareness and improving access to mastectomy and 3D areola-nipple tattoos. These services are crucial for individuals affected by breast cancer, BRCA gene mutations, and those undergoing gender-affirming surgeries. The charity also offers a Gift Voucher Scheme, providing financial assistance for those who need help covering the costs of their restorative tattoos.

In 2024, the MTA’s Tattoo Flash Day Fundraiser emerged as its largest annual campaign, with 46 studios across the UK raising over £21,000. With approximately 55,000 women and 400 men diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK, the funds generated through events like this are essential for helping individuals access the restorative tattoos that contribute to their healing process.

On the day of the event, attendees can choose from a curated selection of flash tattoo designs, priced between £50 and £150, with all profits going directly to the MTA. The designs will be previewed on Paradise’s social media channels prior to the event to generate excitement. Additionally, attendees can enjoy light refreshments and partake in games, including the studio’s popular Truth or Dare wheel, which costs £5 per spin and offers chances to win gift vouchers, merchandise, and prizes donated by local businesses.

Buxton emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “At Paradise, we wanted to show our support for the Mastectomy Tattooing Alliance by hosting a charity Flash Day during Breast Cancer Awareness month. It’s a fun way to raise vital funds while also bringing the tattoo community together for a cause that means so much to me personally.”

She continued, “It’s crucial for the breast cancer, BRCA, and transgender/non-binary communities to know what options are available as part of their healing journey. These tattoos are a key part of their recovery.” Since its opening, Paradise Tattoo Studio has supported numerous clients in regaining confidence following mastectomy, surgery, or injury by providing services such as areola tattooing and scar camouflage.

The studio’s ethos centers on empowering individuals and helping them feel uplifted through tattooing. With community support and the dedication of talented artists like Buxton, Jen Sterry, Fiona Hambleton, and Ceara Bryant, the flash tattoo day promises to be a significant event for both tattoo enthusiasts and those looking to contribute to a meaningful cause.
