In a remarkable feat of endurance, Masanobu Sato set a world record for masturbation by lasting an impressive nine hours and 58 minutes. This record-breaking event took place in 2009 at the Centre of Sex and Culture in San Francisco. Sato’s achievement broke his own previous record of nine hours and 33 minutes, showcasing his dedication to the unusual challenge.

The concept of a marathon masturbation event dates back to 1998, when an adult shop in San Francisco launched “Masturbation Month.” This was followed in 2006 by Europe’s inaugural “masturbate-a-thon.” While these events gained little attention initially, Sato’s extraordinary performance in 2009 brought the practice into the spotlight.

In an interview with Vice, Sato shared insights into his preparation and techniques. He emphasized the importance of imagination in achieving his record, stating, “My abundant imagination was a key to my triumph.” He also revealed that he had undergone rigorous training in Japan prior to the event, swimming twice a week and gaining approximately five kilograms in muscle weight to enhance his stamina.

Sato attributed part of his success to the variety of sensations provided by different Tenga products, which he used during the record attempt. “Without the variety of sensations, my d*** would feel the same sensation for a long time,” he explained, noting that he utilized as many as ten different devices to avoid monotony.

Despite the impressive nature of his achievement, it is worth noting that Sato’s record does not hold official recognition from Guinness World Records, as the organization does not endorse records deemed vulgar or inappropriate.

Since breaking the record, Sato has embraced his unique status, maintaining an Instagram account under the name “Masaturbation,” where he shares aspects of his life. Although his follower count stands at only 421, he continues to engage with fans and followers. Sato also participates in kickboxing and observes “Foreskin Day” on April 4, a playful nod to his unusual interests.

In recent years, there have been rumors of Sato authoring a book titled “How To Masturbate Properly,” but he has yet to confirm the existence of such a publication. The Daily Star has reached out to Sato for comment regarding any potential attempts to surpass his own record since 2009.

This unusual story reflects the blend of humor and human interest that often accompanies records of this nature, inviting curiosity and discussion around the limits of personal endurance and the culture surrounding such events.
