At the recently concluded 65th International Theatre Festival MESS in Sarajevo, two young actors, Lazar Đurđević and Anđela Marunović, received the prestigious “Rejhan Demirdžić” award for their performances in the play “Naličje,” directed by Boris Liješević. This recognition highlights the talent emerging from the Crnogorsko narodno pozorište (CNP).
The play was performed on the evening of October 6, 2023, at the Narodnom pozorištu Sarajevo, where it garnered enthusiastic applause and ovations from the audience. The festival ran from October 4 to 11, 2023, featuring productions from several countries, including Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, and Spain.
The jury for this year’s competitive program consisted of Lee Delong, Emina Muftić, and Thomas Steyaert. Their decisions reflect the high standards of artistry showcased at the festival, further validating the impact of the productions presented.
CNP also noted that at the recent 70th Sterijino pozorje in Novi Sad, the Sterija Award for acting in “Naličje” was awarded to Aleksandar Radulović for his role as Vuk. Additionally, Boris Liješević won the Sterija Award for direction. The production received accolades at the 27th Teatar fest “Petar Kočić” in Banjska Luka, including a Special Award for visual identity and a “Step into Courage” award for the overall play.
These accolades reinforce the artistic excellence of CNP and its successful run of recognition within the regional theatre scene. The cast of “Naličje” includes talented actors such as Kristina Obradović, Žana Gardašević-Bulatović, Nada Vukčević, and many others who contributed to the play’s success.
