Big Brother Contestants Face Reprimand Over Weight Remarks

Tensions escalated in the latest episode of Big Brother on October 22, 2025, as contestant Caroline received a stern reprimand for making comments deemed inappropriate during a rule violation. The incident sparked outrage among viewers, who criticized Caroline’s remarks about fellow housemate Richard‘s weight.
In the episode, Big Brother summoned the contestants to the lounge to address a breach of the show’s regulations regarding discussions of nominations. He stated, “Before you entered the House, the rules regarding the discussion of nominations were clearly explained to you all. Yesterday, those rules were broken yet again.” As tensions mounted, Caroline attempted to shield herself with a towel, anticipating the backlash.
When ordered by Big Brother to remove the towel, she responded, “I’ve just washed my hair,” but was met with an irritated retort to comply. The reprimand followed a conversation where Caroline commented on Richard’s appearance, saying, “He’s [Richard] put on a bit of weight and all. He’s eaten a lot… but he’s not wanting to get involved.” This remark, along with Elsa’s admission that she felt guilty about nominating Richard, led to further violations of the show’s rules.
Viewers reacted strongly on social media, expressing their disapproval of Caroline’s comments. One user stated, “Can we all just be honest and admit that if Richard was the one saying Caroline had gained weight no one would’ve been giggling.” Another noted, “No one should ever comment on anyone’s weight, I think this is disgusting. I really feel for Richard; he seems like a nice man.”
House Dynamics and Pranks Create Additional Tension
As the drama unfolded, another incident in the house involved contestants Jenny and Nancy, who orchestrated a prank that left some housemates uneasy. During dinner, their heated exchange led others to believe they were on the verge of a physical confrontation. While some found the prank amusing, others, including housemate Feyisola, expressed discomfort, stating, “I think my humour is a bit different.”
The situation escalated to the point where Elsa revealed her distress to Big Brother, stating, “I don’t like loud noises and shouting and arguing so I just sort of disassociated.” She disclosed that she felt triggered by the events and expressed her hope that such staged conflicts would not become a recurring theme in the house.
The ongoing tensions highlight the complex dynamics among contestants in the Big Brother house, where personal comments and pranks can easily spiral into significant emotional distress. As the show continues to air from Sunday to Friday at 21:00 on ITV2 and ITVX, viewers remain eager to see how these relationships will evolve amid the pressures of the game.
