The Narodna biblioteka “Radosav Ljumović” in Podgorica has announced the winners of its literary competition celebrating the works of students from primary and secondary schools. This event marks the observance of November 13, the birthday of Petar II Petrović Njegoš, a key figure in Montenegrin literature and history. The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 7, 2023, at 19:00 in the “Marko Miljanov” hall.

In the primary school category, students were tasked with writing on the theme “Blessed is he who lives forever; he has been born to thrive.” The first prize was awarded to Danilo Galičić, a student at Osnovna škola “Vuk Karadžić.” Second and third prizes went to Ksenija Janković and Maša Boljević, both students from OSŠ “Vlado Milić.”

Turning to the secondary school category, participants focused on the theme “A cup of bitterness asks for a cup of honey; laughter is the easiest to drink.” The top prize was claimed by Petra Gavrić, a student at Gimnazija “Slobodan Škerović.” The second prize was awarded to Elena Šćepanović from Srednja ekonomska škola “Mirko Vešović,” while Lazar Pejović, also from Gimnazija “Slobodan Škerović,” secured third place.

All award-winning students will receive a diploma, a book, and a monetary prize, recognizing their literary talents and contributions. This initiative not only honors the legacy of Njegoš but also encourages young writers to explore and express their thoughts through literature.
