Lawyer Damir Lekić Denies Violence Claims Following Court Incident

Damir Lekić, a lawyer based in Podgorica, has firmly denied allegations of violence following an incident at the Basic Court. The Police Administration reported that both verbal and physical altercations had occurred, leading to the arrest of an attorney. In a public statement released today, Lekić asserted that he did not engage in any form of physical confrontation with police officers or court officials.
Clarifying the Incident
In his response, Lekić emphasized that he has never fought with anyone in his life, stating, “I have never had a physical confrontation with anyone, including this category of individuals.” He expressed frustration over what he perceives as sensationalist media coverage surrounding the event, suggesting that recent reports have portrayed him negatively based on unverified police information.
“It seems that the media finds it entertaining to write about me in a negative context,” Lekić remarked. He appreciated the attention but urged journalists to avoid turning his experiences into a series of exaggerated stories akin to “Spanish soap operas.” He hopes that the media will refrain from dramatizing his personal and professional life.
Reassuring the Public
In an effort to reassure concerned friends and colleagues, Lekić mentioned receiving numerous calls asking about his well-being. He stated, “I am well, everything is fine, and I am writing this statement from the gym and spa center where I have been relaxing for the past three hours.” He aimed to alleviate fears and clarify his situation, emphasizing that he is not involved in any legal troubles.
As the situation unfolds, Lekić’s response highlights the importance of accurate reporting and the potential impact of media narratives on individuals’ lives. He remains committed to addressing any misconceptions while maintaining his professional integrity.
This incident at the Basic Court in Podgorica has sparked discussions about the role of media in shaping public perception and the necessity for fact-based reporting in legal matters. As details continue to emerge, both Lekić and the authorities are likely to provide further updates.
