Sky Offers Free TV Upgrade with 35 New Channels for Customers

Sky has announced an enticing promotion for its subscribers, providing a free upgrade to the more premium Sky Ultimate TV package for a limited time. Starting from October 10, 2023, customers with the basic Sky Essential TV package can access over 35 additional channels without any extra cost. This promotional offer will last until October 16, 2023, allowing viewers to explore a wide array of premium content.
This temporary upgrade automatically enhances the viewing experience for eligible customers. Those subscribed to the Sky Essential TV package will find their service upgraded to Sky Ultimate TV, granting access to popular channels such as Sky Max, Sky Crime, Sky Documentaries, U&Gold, and Comedy Central. According to a statement from Sky, the initiative aims to provide subscribers with a taste of the enhanced content available through the premium package.
Sky emphasized the variety of programming that subscribers can enjoy during this promotional period. In addition to well-loved channels, viewers will have the opportunity to watch hit shows including the final season of Brassic, BAFTA-winning series Mr Bigstuff, and new content such as the mockumentary The Paper on Sky Max. Other offerings include acclaimed series like The Office on Sky Comedy and action-packed shows like FBI and Fire Country on Sky Witness.
The upgrade is designed to be seamless, with Sky confirming that customers do not need to take any action to access the new channels. The additional content will be automatically available on their devices from the start of the promotion. This strategy not only provides immediate value to existing customers but also serves as a way for Sky to encourage future upgrades after the promotional period concludes.
After the free trial, existing customers can choose to continue enjoying Sky Ultimate TV at a promotional price of just £3 more per month. This offer reflects Sky’s commitment to enhance customer satisfaction and drive long-term loyalty.
Sky is not the only television provider offering perks this month. Virgin Media has also introduced a complimentary channel access promotion, allowing families to tune into various popular channels including Sky Kids, Cartoon Network, and Baby TV throughout October. This initiative is aimed at providing entertainment options for families during the upcoming half-term break, showcasing shows such as Pip and Posy’s Spooktacular Party and SpongeBob SquarePants.
As competition in the television industry intensifies, these promotional offers highlight efforts by providers like Sky and Virgin Media to attract and retain subscribers by enhancing their viewing experience.
