Gamers Rush to Download Titles Before PlayStation and Xbox Cut-Off

Gamers are urged to act quickly as a selection of popular titles will no longer be available for download after midnight tonight. As part of an ongoing update to their subscription services, both PlayStation Plus and Xbox are removing several games, including the highly regarded Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. This deadline comes just before a significant influx of new games set to be added to the platforms.
Starting tomorrow, PlayStation Plus subscribers will see the introduction of several new titles, including Cyberpunk 2077, which has been included in celebration of the service’s 15th anniversary. The new offerings for the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers on July 15, 2025, include notable games such as Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, Planet Zoo, and Tropico 6.
As the service refreshes, players must also contend with the departure of several games, with at least six titles leaving the platform. Among these, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, and Job Simulator stand out as particularly significant losses. The removal of these titles, especially Crisis Core and Dying Light 2, is expected to disappoint many loyal subscribers.
While PlayStation is making headlines with its updates, Microsoft also faced scrutiny recently after an edited emulation of a PlayStation game was discovered on its platform. The game, titled Anti-Gravity Racing WipEout, was sold as a legitimate product before being removed.
As the gaming landscape shifts, players are reminded of the urgency to download available titles before they vanish from the digital storefronts. This period marks a significant moment for subscribers of both PlayStation Plus and Xbox, as they navigate the changes in their gaming libraries.
Notably, the advancements in subscription services aim to enhance the value for users, as seen with the addition of Abiotic Factor scheduled for release on July 22. This title will further invigorate the offerings available to subscribers, ensuring a dynamic gaming experience.
The removal of beloved games alongside the introduction of new ones exemplifies the fast-paced nature of the gaming industry. As players gear up for the upcoming titles, the clock is ticking for those hoping to secure their favorites before they are gone.
