Glangwili Chemotherapy Unit Receives £7,899 Donation for Patient Care
The Glangwili Chemotherapy Day Unit in Carmarthen has received a substantial donation of £7,899, enhancing its ability to provide quality care to patients. The generous contribution comes from the NFU Llandeilo office, which nominated the unit to receive support from the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust.
Community Support Strengthens Healthcare Services
Angharad Davies, Office Manager at NFU Llandeilo, highlighted the growing importance of the unit’s services, particularly as cancer continues to impact families within the local community. “During our visit to the unit, we observed firsthand how charitable donations enhance the facilities available to patients undergoing treatment,” she stated. Davies emphasized that the funds will directly improve the quality of care and comfort for those receiving chemotherapy.
Jessica Michael, Senior Sister at the Glangwili Chemotherapy Day Unit, expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff and patients. “I would like to thank NFU Llandeilo for supporting the unit, resulting in a very generous donation of £7,899. We are always looking for ways to improve the environment and the care we provide within the Chemotherapy Day Unit. Please be assured that this money will go towards these improvements. Diolch yn fawr,” Michael said.
Enhancing Patient Experience Through Charitable Contributions
The donation will play a crucial role in facilitating enhancements to the unit’s facilities, ensuring that patients have access to a supportive environment during their treatment. Nicola Llewelyn, Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, expressed her appreciation for the nomination made by NFU Llandeilo. Llewelyn noted, “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda, and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
Such contributions not only bolster the quality of patient care but also foster a sense of community involvement in local healthcare initiatives.
