Emma Stone recently shared an amusing anecdote involving her mother and actress Angelina Jolie during an interview with Vogue. The incident took place at the 2011 Golden Globes, where Stone attended with her mother, Krista Stone, and found themselves seated next to Jolie and her then-husband, Brad Pitt.

Reflecting on the night, the 36-year-old actress described it as a memorable experience filled with excitement. She recalled how her mother, caught up in the star-studded atmosphere, asked Jolie if she had any children. Stone found this question particularly humorous, considering that it was widely known that Jolie and Pitt share a large family of six children.

“The Golden Globes is sort of like these big, round tables and it feels like you’re just constantly running into all these people that you’ve only seen on TV or in movies,” Stone explained. She added a light-hearted observation about the celebrities’ heights, noting that “everybody’s shorter than you think they are,” with the exception of Conan O’Brien, whom she jokingly described as “seven-and-a-half-feet tall.”

This wasn’t the first time Stone revealed the story. She previously recounted the same event during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2020, expressing her surprise at being seated next to such Hollywood icons. “We were like, ‘Of all people to be sitting next to at that kind of a show, whoa,'” she mentioned.

Stone also shared that her mother, who typically refrains from drinking, indulged in champagne that evening. “It was probably not the best idea, but she was having a wonderful time,” Stone noted, emphasizing the joy of the occasion. Despite her mother pretending to be unaware of Jolie’s children, Stone remarked on how kind the couple was, saying, “They were so nice. We had a blast.”

Reflections on Fashion and Motherhood

In the Vogue interview, Stone also took the opportunity to discuss her fashion choices over the years. She expressed regret regarding her attire at the 2011 Golden Globes, specifically her spray tan, which she felt matched her dress too closely. “I look like one solid thumb,” the Superbad star humorously remarked about her outfit.

The actress also praised the design of her dress but expressed disappointment in her choice to coordinate her skin tone with it. “That’s what bums me out about this… is it’s such a beautiful dress, such a beautiful shape,” she said, reflecting on the event’s fashion moments.

Additionally, Stone, who is Vogue’s September cover star, made touching comments about her daughter, Louise Jean, whom she shares with husband Dave McCary. “There’s nothing I feel luckier about,” she said, adding, “She’s the greatest gift of my life, for sure.”

Stone’s lighthearted recollections from that memorable night at the Golden Globes highlight not only her personal experiences but also her candid reflections on motherhood and fashion.
