Danny Dyer Lookalike Contest Draws Crowds in London Celebration

A lively competition unfolded in London on July 23, 2025, as fans of actor Danny Dyer gathered to showcase their best impersonations of the popular star. Clad in their finest tracksuits, the lookalikes congregated at Hoxton Square, all vying for the title of Dyer’s best double. The event featured the actor’s co-stars, Ryan Sampson and Harriet Webb, who served as judges for the day.
The competition drew more than ten contestants, many of whom sported recognizable Sergio Tacchini jackets, sunglasses, and slicked-back hairstyles reminiscent of Dyer’s iconic look. Among those competing was a professional lookalike, officially signed to an agency due to his striking resemblance to the actor. Despite strong competition, he was ultimately not declared the winner.
The day’s winner, Oscar Jorneaux, a 22-year-old musician, celebrated his victory with enthusiasm. Wearing a white and maroon Sergio Tacchini jacket similar to one worn by Dyer in the 2005 film The Business, he posed for photos alongside the judges and a cutout of Dyer himself. Jorneaux’s success may have stemmed from his outfit, which resonated with the audience and judges alike.
The event was buoyed by Dyer’s own endorsement, as he shared a video on Instagram of a fan announcing their day off work to attend the competition. This public approval added an extra layer of excitement to the day. In promoting the contest, Sampson and Webb playfully encouraged participants, asking, “Britain, do you look like Danny Dyer? Do you smoke a lot of fags?”
As the competition unfolded, participants were in high spirits, sharing laughs and camaraderie. Prizes included £50 for the winner and various gifts for categories such as “best hair” and “best style.” Even the least successful contestant received a consolation prize of a four-pack of beer. This light-hearted atmosphere underscored the spirit of the event, which celebrated not only Dyer’s celebrity status but also the joy of community interaction.
The lookalike contest is part of a growing trend of celebrity impersonation events around the world. Last year, a similar competition took place in London for Harry Styles impersonators, showcasing the appeal of celebrity culture in a fun and engaging manner. In another recent event, fans of actor Timothée Chalamet were thrilled when he unexpectedly joined a lookalike competition in New York City, illustrating the enthusiasm surrounding these gatherings.
The Danny Dyer lookalike competition highlighted the actor’s cultural impact and the joy that such events bring to fans. As the laughter and celebration echoed through Hoxton Square, it was clear that the spirit of community and admiration for Dyer had created a memorable occasion for all involved.
