VitrA Tiles Unveils Innovations at Cersaie 2025, Emphasizing Sustainability
At the Cersaie 2025 exhibition, VitrA Tiles showcased groundbreaking developments in ceramic technology, notably the introduction of a “100% Recycled Porcelain Tile” and its innovative V-Tone technology. The company transformed its exhibition stand into an immersive experience that captivated architects, designers, and customers alike. Visitors explored four thematic zones that highlighted the latest advancements in the industry.
One of the standout features was V-Tone, a new Tonalite technology designed to address a longstanding issue in the ceramic tile industry: shade variation across production batches. V-Tone ensures remarkable chromatic consistency, maintaining identical tile colors across different batches. This significant advancement reduces the risk of color deviation, enhancing design uniformity for architects and designers. The initial investment in V-Tone is set to commence in March 2026, with full implementation across all production lines anticipated by the end of that year. With V-Tone, the previously extensive range of shade variations in a single product has been condensed to just three, alleviating concerns over inconsistent colors and mismatched reorders.
In addition to V-Tone, VitrA Tiles introduced TileScape, an innovative app that recommends the most suitable tile products based on a single photo. The exhibition also featured VitrA’s life solutions, including V-Shape and V-Hygiene, which emphasize maximum visual performance and cleanliness. The Easy Tiling function enhances installation efficiency, making the process up to seven times faster.
Among all its innovations, the most significant announcement from VitrA Tiles at Cersaie 2025 was the launch of the “100% Recycled Porcelain Tile.” This initiative marks a pivotal moment in the company’s commitment to a circular economy and energy sustainability. The new tile, crafted entirely from waste materials, represents a world premiere in the ceramic industry, showcasing how waste can be transformed into high-quality products without compromising performance or aesthetics.
The innovation is based on a proprietary recipe that effectively utilizes 100% production waste, thus promoting a sustainable cycle. This approach not only aids in managing waste more effectively but also significantly reduces reliance on virgin raw materials, lowering the overall carbon footprint. The project excels in energy efficiency, having reduced production times and consequently saving on electricity and natural gas consumption.
Traditionally, products made from waste materials often face challenges regarding quality. However, VitrA Tiles’ 100% waste-based tile meets all relevant national and international technical standards. This innovative production method streamlines processes and reinforces VitrA Tiles’ dedication to sustainable manufacturing, merging research and development with operational efficiency.
About VitrA Tiles, the company, established in Tuzla, Istanbul, in 1991, has become Türkiye’s leading exporter of ceramic tiles to the European Union. With an annual production capacity of 33 million square meters, VitrA operates facilities in Bozüyük, Bilecik, and beyond. The Bozüyük Plant is recognized as the first ceramic tile production facility to be included in the “Global Lighthouse Network,” a selection made by the World Economic Forum to highlight advanced production facilities implementing Industry 4.0 practices. VitrA Tiles has consistently reduced its carbon emissions by approximately 60% during production, further solidifying its position as one of Europe’s top tile manufacturers.
