Primorac Signs Đuro Radović and Marko Petković Ahead of Season’s Second Half
Đuro Radović and Marko Petković have officially joined Primorac, enhancing the team’s roster as they prepare for the second half of the season. Both players, current and former representatives of Montenegro, are set to make their debut on January 31, 2024, in a crucial match against Šabac, the current leaders of the Premier League.
This strategic move marks a significant boost in ambitions for the Montenegrin vice-champions. With their hopes for advancement in the Champions League dashed—having lost all chances to secure one of the top two spots—the focus has shifted to achieving a better standing in domestic competitions. The team is now also vying for a spot in the final tournament of the Premier League.
New Players Bring Fresh Aspirations
Radović expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I know the guys and the team, and I believe I will fit in well. There was a mutual desire to sign the contract, and I think I made a good move at this moment in my career, especially after being without a club mid-season. I recognized the ambitions of the club, which align with mine—winning the Montenegrin championship, reaching the final tournament of the Regional League, and making it to the top four teams in the Euro Cup.”
Radović joins Primorac from Novi Beograd, while Petković, a former captain of the “sharks,” has previously played for Crvena Zvezda. Petković expressed excitement about joining a club with a rich history, stating, “I look forward to coming to a great club with a storied past. It will be a completely new experience for me, as Kotor is a town that lives for water polo and Primorac. The team is well-organized and led by an excellent coaching staff. I hope that Đuro and I can contribute and elevate everything to an even higher level. I believe this team can achieve great success both this season and in the future.”
Looking Ahead
The recent recruitments signal a clear intention from Primorac to enhance their competitive edge as they aim for domestic glory. The team’s management has recognized the importance of bolstering their squad to compete effectively in both local and regional tournaments. With the addition of Radović and Petković, fans are hopeful that the team will rise to the challenges ahead, especially as they prepare for the decisive matches that will shape their season.
The significance of these signings cannot be overstated, as both players bring a wealth of experience and skill that could be pivotal for Primorac’s ambitions. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on the team to see how these new players integrate and help elevate the club’s performance in the Premier League and beyond.
