Kris Boyd, a cornerback for the New York Jets, was shot outside the Sei Less restaurant in Midtown Manhattan early on November 16, 2025. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, left Boyd critically injured with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Footage from the scene shows police officers surrounding him as they administered first aid before transporting him to Bellevue Hospital.

Witnesses reported that the shooting followed a verbal dispute, escalating quickly as the assailant fired two shots before fleeing the scene in a blue BMW. Police have cordoned off the area as they continue their investigation but have yet to make any arrests.

In a social media statement, Boyd’s friend, Ernest Quander, reassured fans and supporters of the cornerback’s condition, stating, “He’s all good right now. He’s in good condition. He’s doing real good.” Quander, who formed a close bond with Boyd during their time at the University of Texas, described him as a fighter.

The New York Jets released a brief statement acknowledging the situation: “We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time.” Boyd, who joined the Jets in March 2025 after playing with the Houston Texans, has not participated in the current season due to a shoulder injury that required surgery.

Several of Boyd’s teammates expressed their support through social media. Defensive end Jermaine Johnson urged followers to send prayers for Boyd and his family, while defensive tackle Harrison Phillips offered a heartfelt plea for healing, emphasizing Boyd’s strength and resilience.

The shooting took place outside Sei Less, an Asian fusion restaurant popular among celebrities, including Cardi B and Kevin Hart. Investigators are actively seeking information about the gunman and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As the Jets prepare for their upcoming game against the New England Patriots, Boyd’s condition will be closely monitored by fans and teammates alike, hoping for a swift recovery for the talented player.
