Sky Offers Free TV Upgrade with 35 Extra Channels for Customers

Sky has launched a limited-time offer granting subscribers access to over 35 additional channels at no cost. This promotion, effective from October 10, 2023, runs for a full week and ends on October 16, 2023. Customers with the basic Sky Essential TV package will be automatically upgraded to the more comprehensive Sky Ultimate TV option, providing a rich array of premium content without any additional fees.
Subscribers will benefit from a selection of popular networks, including Sky Max, Sky Crime, and Sky Documentaries. The upgrade seamlessly enhances viewing options for existing customers, who can enjoy a variety of shows such as the final series of *Brassic* and the BAFTA-winning *Mr Bigstuff*. According to a statement from Sky, “From 10–16 October, Sky Essential TV customers can access Sky Ultimate TV at no extra cost.”
The company further elaborated that the upgrade unlocks “35+ extra channels to watch.” Viewers can look forward to new programming, including the mockumentary *The Paper* on Sky Max, *The Office* on Sky Comedy, and popular series like *FBI* and *Fire Country* on Sky Witness.
Sky has made it clear that customers need not take any action to access this upgrade. The company confirmed that the additional channels will automatically appear on the subscriptions of all eligible Sky Essential TV customers starting October 10. This week-long trial serves as a promotional strategy, allowing customers to experience the enhanced offering with the hope that many will choose to continue with the Sky Ultimate TV package once the free period concludes.
For current subscribers who wish to keep the upgraded service, Sky has announced the lowest upgrade price ever, at just £3 extra per month. This competitive pricing reflects the company’s aim to attract and retain more viewers in a crowded market.
Sky is not the only service provider offering additional perks this month. Virgin Media has also introduced a similar promotion, allowing customers to access channels such as Sky Kids, Cartoon Network, and Baby TV for the entire month of October. This initiative is particularly timely, as families can enjoy popular shows like *Pip and Posy’s Spooktacular Party*, *The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball*, *SpongeBob SquarePants*, and *Peppa Pig* without incurring extra costs.
As competition intensifies among television providers, these promotional offers highlight strategies aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and engagement. With Sky’s latest upgrade, subscribers can explore a broader range of entertainment, ensuring that viewers remain entertained during the autumn season.
