Sam’s Xpress and Al Rufaa Tipped for Wins at Wolverhampton
Sam’s Xpress has been identified as a strong contender for victory in the Midnite Are Upping The Betting Game Handicap at Wolverhampton on Monday evening. The five-year-old, previously trained in Ireland, appears set to secure a third consecutive win after a successful transition to the stable of Julia and Shelley Birkett. Following a decisive three-and-a-quarter-length triumph in a five-furlong classified stakes at Chelmsford City at the end of August, Sam’s Xpress showcased impressive form again last week, defeating Gustav Graves by two and a half lengths at Wolverhampton.
With a 4lb penalty applied after his recent win, there is potential for Gustav Graves to close the gap. Nevertheless, the expectation remains that Sam’s Xpress will maintain his lead and clinch another victory.
Al Rufaa, another horse expected to perform well on the same card, is set to compete in the Midnite: Built For 2025 Not 2005 Handicap at 19:30. Trained by Dan and Claire Kübler, the eight-year-old was involved in a closely contested race last Monday, finishing in a dead heat for second alongside Orbaan, just behind Yourarenotforgiven. Al Rufaa’s performance was affected by racing wide early on, but he is anticipated to outperform his rivals in the upcoming race.
