Luka Radović to Shine at Montesong with New Song “Pjevaj Vilo”
Montenegro’s celebrated singer Luka Radović is set to captivate audiences at this year’s Montesong, scheduled for December 21, 2024. Performing under the number 14, Radović views this appearance as a significant milestone in his career. This marks his second participation in the competition, having previously showcased his talents with the song “Kada dođe maj.”
His latest entry, “Pjevaj vilo,” is a powerful piece that Radović describes as a song full of energy and hope, designed to resonate deeply with listeners. He stated in an interview with Montenegrin media that the song reflects a return to one’s roots, emphasizing the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The lyrics of “Pjevaj vilo” are imbued with symbolism, according to Radović. He noted, “It brings us back to all the hardships that my country and the surrounding nations have endured. The Balkans is a land of phoenixes.” This connection to resilience and cultural identity adds layers of meaning to his performance.
Radović is optimistic that the audience will recognize the quality of his song, which he believes is already becoming a hit. He expressed confidence in the feedback he has received online, stating, “Comments on various international platforms indicate that I am faring well, even though the 7/8 rhythm may be unfamiliar to Western audiences. The surprising shift from 7/8 to 4/4 is something that captivates even the skeptics in the end.”
He further elaborated on the potential of “Pjevaj vilo” as a contender for the Eurovision Song Contest, arguing that its vivid storytelling and visual appeal could make it a standout entry. “Even though the song carries an ethnic resonance and isn’t of a modern character, this quality encourages people to reconnect with their roots and themselves, even if just through music,” Radović added.
As he prepares for the Montesong stage, Radović remains dedicated to delivering a performance that not only entertains but also inspires. With “Pjevaj vilo,” he aims to leave a lasting impression on both the judges and the audience, fostering a sense of pride in Montenegrin culture and history.
