Llandudno Man Charged After Inappropriate Approaches to Children
A man from Llandudno, identified as Terrence Sarjantson, has been charged with public order offences following reports of inappropriate behaviour towards schoolchildren. The 42-year-old resident of Maes Yr Orsedd was arrested by police on Monday, November 24, after incidents were reported both at the local Asda store and in the Ffordd Las area of Llandudno.
According to a statement from North Wales Police, Sarjantson has been released on conditional police bail and is scheduled to appear at Llandudno Magistrates Court on January 14, 2026. The arrest came in response to community concerns raised on social media regarding a male behaving suspiciously and approaching children in an inappropriate manner.
Sgt Becca Southworth of North Wales Police addressed community concerns, emphasizing the seriousness with which they treat such allegations. “We are aware of reports on social media in which local residents have expressed concern about a male approaching schoolchildren in an inappropriate manner yesterday evening,” she stated.
She reassured the public that the police acted promptly to investigate the situation. “Officers acted swiftly and arrested a male on suspicion of these public order offences,” she added.
Sgt Southworth acknowledged the anxiety these incidents can create within the community, particularly for parents and guardians. “We understand that incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community, particularly among parents and carers,” she said. “Please be assured that we take all reports extremely seriously. Our policing response to any allegation involving the safety of children will always be swift, robust and proportionate.”
The police continue to encourage residents to report any suspicious or concerning behaviour. “Your safety, and the safety of our young people, remains our priority,” Sgt Southworth concluded.
As the case unfolds, the community remains vigilant, urging one another to stay alert and report any further incidents to local authorities.
