Montenegro’s Tax Administration Launches New Integrated System

The Montenegro Tax Administration, known as Poreska uprava Crne Gore, will implement a new integrated information system (IRMS) starting on January 12, 2026. This transition is part of a broader initiative aimed at reforming tax administration in Montenegro.

In preparation for this change, the Tax Administration has announced that client services, requests, and documentation will continue to be processed using the existing system until December 31, 2025, at 11:00. After this deadline, access to the CRPS and TAXIS portals will cease operations.

Taxpayers will gain access to the new Tax Administration portal at the URL https://irms.tax.gov.me/. The Tax Administration emphasizes that, due to objective technical circumstances, timely submissions of IOPPD reports and VAT declarations for the December 2025 reporting period will be accepted if submitted by January 30, 2026.

It is important to note that the extension applies solely to the submission of reports and does not affect the legal deadline for the payment of tax obligations.

From December 31, 2025, until the launch of the new system on January 12, 2026, Tax Administration officials will collaborate with the contractor to prepare for the transition to the new operational environment and to carry out data migration. This phase is crucial to ensure a smooth implementation of the new system, which aims to enhance efficiency and service delivery for taxpayers in Montenegro.

As the Tax Administration moves forward with this significant upgrade, stakeholders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new portal and the revised submission timelines.
