Alabama Shakes Announce UK Return with Wasing Headline Show
The acclaimed band Alabama Shakes is set to return to the UK for their first live performances in a decade, headlining a concert at The Mount in Wasing on July 2, 2026. This much-anticipated show follows the announcement that Self Esteem will also perform at the same venue just two days later, on July 4. The stunning natural surroundings of The Mount, an amphitheatre nestled within the Wasing estate, promise to enhance the experience for attendees.
The venue, known for its enchanting woodland trails and vibrant wildflowers, creates a unique atmosphere that pairs music with nature. It is renowned for hosting world-class artists, and the summer lineup reflects this tradition. MIKA will take the stage on June 26, followed by Pixies on June 27, before Alabama Shakes perform on July 2, concluding with Self Esteem on July 4. More acts are expected to be announced soon.
Alabama Shakes, formed in Athens, Alabama, features vocalist and guitarist Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, and bassist Zac Cockrell. They gained widespread acclaim with their debut album, Boys & Girls, released in 2012. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart and earned multiple GRAMMY nominations. The lead single, Hold On, was recognized as the No. 1 Best Song of 2012 by Rolling Stone.
The band’s evolution continued with the release of Sound & Color in 2015, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. This album won two GRAMMY Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The first single, Don’t Wanna Fight, also garnered awards for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. The New York Times Magazine noted the album’s “soul-stirring, shape-shifting new sound,” highlighting the band’s growth since their debut.
After a prolonged hiatus, Alabama Shakes recently released their first new music in over ten years with the single Another Life. The announcement of their UK shows follows a successful North American tour, reigniting excitement among fans worldwide.
Tickets for the Wasing performances will be available through Ticketmaster. Presales will begin on December 3, 2025, with general sales commencing on December 5, 2025.
Fans can expect a memorable experience as Alabama Shakes return to the live stage, bringing their distinctive sound and energy to one of the UK’s most picturesque venues.
