Dan, a passionate sewer from Durham who began sewing at the age of 10, chose to transform a collection of matching Christmas t-shirts worn by his family in 2022 into a striking halter-neck dress. He included a faux-fur muff that carried special meaning, explaining, “This was a shawl that I made for my mum that she only wore once; unfortunately, she passed away.” Dan expressed that he wanted to incorporate his mother’s essence into his creation.

Overcome with emotion, he remarked, “I’m glad I did this, because I wanted my mum to be represented.” Reflecting on the judges’ positive feedback, he stated, “This week has been insane. I can’t believe all the good comments they said. It was really nice they got my vision and knew where I was going with it, especially this one in particular; it was really personal to me.”
