Bridgwater Carnival 2025 Celebrates Creativity with Award-Winning Entries
The Bridgwater Carnival 2025 captivated audiences with a vibrant display of creativity, music, and lights as it paraded through the streets. The event, renowned for its artistic floats, saw the Ramblers Carnival Club take home the top honor in the Local Feature Mounted category with their entry, which paid tribute to the 1912 coal strikes. Their remarkable performance not only impressed judges but also earned them multiple accolades, including Best Decorated Towing Vehicle, Best Lighting (Local), Most Original Entry, and Best Decorated Generator.
In addition to these honors, Ramblers Carnival Club triumphed in the Hardy Spicer and Lions International Championship Cups for local entries, solidifying their status as a standout in this year’s competition. The carnival showcased a variety of themes and talents, making it a memorable event for participants and spectators alike.
The Harlequin Carnival Club secured the top prize in the Open Feature Mounted category with their frosty-themed entry, while the Huckyduck Carnival Club excelled in the Open Tableaux category, winning with their vibrant performance. They were also recognized for having the Best Dressed Towing Vehicle Driver.
Creativity among younger participants was evident, as the Hillview Junior Carnival Club won first place in the Juvenile Cart category. The Just Ed Carnival Club also shone brightly, capturing hearts in the Single Juvenile Masquerader class. The event highlighted the talents of various clubs, each bringing unique interpretations to their performances.
Notable entries included the Globe Carnival Club, which finished second in the Open Feature Mounted class and received the award for Best Costume. The Pentathlon Carnival Club took second place in the Open Tableaux class, demonstrating strong competition across all categories. Furthermore, Wilfs Carnival Club was recognized as Best Local Entry in the Adult Masqueraders category for their playful performance.
The Bridgwater Carnival continues to be a significant cultural event, celebrating community spirit and creativity. A complete list of winners across all categories was released following the event, showcasing the diverse talent present in this year’s carnival.
