Tesco Doubles Clubcard Points on Gift Cards for December Shoppers
Tesco has introduced a promotion allowing Clubcard members to earn double points on gift card purchases throughout December 2023. This initiative enables shoppers to accumulate two points for every £1 spent on gift cards, enhancing the rewards for both personal and gift purchases during the festive season.
Traditionally, Tesco provides one point per £1 spent, with gift cards typically excluded from this benefits scheme. The accumulated points can be redeemed with Clubcard Reward Partners, potentially offering up to 4% back on spending. Research conducted by Tesco indicates that 58% of individuals enjoy receiving gift cards, reinforcing the retailer’s strategy to make holiday shopping more rewarding.
Ban Mahsoub, Partnerships Director at Tesco Insurance and Money Services, highlighted the appeal of the promotion. “We all know the challenge of finding the perfect Christmas gift. With two points for every £1 spent on gift cards, you can be confident you’re giving something they’ll love, and you’ll get a little something back for yourself too. It’s a win-win,” he stated.
Promotion Details and Eligible Retailers
The promotion runs for the entire month of December and applies to all third-party gift cards available in selected Tesco stores. Customers looking to purchase items from retailers such as Currys, Dunelm, or B&Q can buy a Tesco gift card first. This strategy allows them to earn double Clubcard points before making their intended purchases.
The selection of gift cards available includes popular brands such as Apple, Five Guys, H&M, Fortnite, Google Play, Greggs, Lego, Pandora, and Primark. This variety ensures that shoppers can find suitable options for their friends and family, alongside the added benefit of earning rewards.
Currently, approximately 24 million households in the UK are enrolled in the Tesco Clubcard program. For further details, including full terms and conditions, interested customers can visit tesco.com/giftcards.
This promotion aligns with Tesco’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer loyalty and provide value during the peak shopping season, ultimately aiming to increase engagement with its Clubcard program.
