New Ownership Takes Charge at Cafe Vic Ryn in Lisburn
A new chapter has begun at Cafe Vic Ryn in Lisburn, with Caleb, a long-time manager and local councillor, taking over ownership from founder Jacqueline Evans. The transition marks the end of an era for the popular eatery, which opened its doors in 2004 and has since become a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike.
In announcing her decision to step down, Jacqueline Evans reflected on the café’s journey over the past 21 years. “From the beginning, we quickly became one of Lisburn’s busiest coffee spots,” she stated. Evans highlighted the café’s innovative take on scones, boasting over 50 varieties that have attracted patrons from across the country.
Expressing her gratitude, Evans thanked the customers, suppliers, and staff who have supported Cafe Vic Ryn over the years. “Your support has been a blessing,” she noted. Her commitment to the community was evident as she spoke about working with local charities and providing opportunities for young people through organizations like Stepping Stones and Mencap.
Evans’ heartfelt message also acknowledged her team, stating, “To every single team member — past and present — thank you. You’ve all been part of something special.” She emphasized the joy and memories created during her time at the café, which she described as a fulfilling journey filled with both challenges and triumphs.
Looking ahead, Caleb expressed his excitement about taking over the café, stating, “I am deeply honoured and humbled to be given the opportunity to take on ownership of Cafe Vic Ryn.” With 15 years of experience at the café, he is eager to continue the legacy that Jacqueline Evans established.
He assured loyal customers that the café would maintain its high standards and values: “Your trust and commitment have been the foundation of our success,” he remarked. Caleb confirmed that the existing team would remain in place, ensuring that customers continue to receive the excellent service they have come to expect.
Moreover, he added that Jacqueline Evans will not be retiring but will stay on to share her baking expertise and assist him as he navigates this new phase for the café. “I’m excited for the future of Cafe Vic Ryn and look forward to sharing the next chapter with all of you,” Caleb concluded.
As Cafe Vic Ryn embarks on this new journey under Caleb’s leadership, both he and Jacqueline Evans remain committed to serving the community and upholding the café’s cherished traditions.
