M.J. Arlidge’s Gripping Thriller
In his latest novel, Into the Fire, M.J. Arlidge presents a tightly woven narrative that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The story revolves around Helen Grace, a former detective who believes she has made the right choice in leaving her job. However, her convictions are tested when she witnesses a young woman being chased by two menacing thugs.
Without hesitation, Helen leaps into action, confronting the attackers and swiftly subduing them. Yet, just as she thinks the crisis is over, she is ambushed from behind. When she regains consciousness, the young woman is nowhere to be found, having been abducted and driven away in a white van. This harrowing scenario sets the stage for a story filled with suspense and unexpected twists.
M.J. Arlidge will appear at Manx Litfest on September 25 at 7:30 PM at Quayle’s Hall in Ramsey. For further details, visit the festival’s official website at manxlitfest.com.

This book has garnered particular affection on the Isle of Man, where the characters are based in Groudle Glen.
As part of Manx Litfest, Hazelwood will host an interactive event on September 27 at 10:00 AM at Douglas City Library. During this session, children in attendance will have the opportunity to contribute ideas that will help Hazelwood create a unique cartoon scene, blending storytelling with creativity.
