During its fourth session on October 7, 2025, the Council for Public Investments evaluated a list of priority projects and established steps for the successful execution of new investments that will be financed from the capital budget for 2026.
Among the projects selected for funding, Berane has secured a significant position, reflecting a commitment to regional development and improved living conditions for its residents. The final list includes several important initiatives:
– Reconstruction of the old building for medicine and pathology, along with the procurement of a multifunctional hyperbaric chamber at the KBC Berane, valued at €1,347,825.59.
– Construction of a municipal market at an estimated cost of €4,900,000.
– Reconstruction of the Berane-Petnjica road in Budimlja, which includes the expansion of sidewalks and road realignment, valued at €1,579,172.68.
– Reconstruction of the local roadway from Hotel Berane to Lisijevo polje (Luska Street), estimated at €5,562,276.69.
Additionally, funding for the project “Recycling Yard with Sorting Facility in the Municipality of Berane” will be sourced through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which will form part of Montenegro’s borrowing strategy for 2026.
These projects are crucial for enhancing the quality of life for citizens, improving communal and transportation infrastructure, and strengthening the economic and health functionalities of Berane and Northern Montenegro. The Municipality of Berane expressed its sincere gratitude to the Government of Montenegro, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, and the Ministry of Finance for recognizing the strategic importance of these initiatives and supporting the development of the municipality.
The decision to prioritize Berane among capital investment projects reaffirms the government’s commitment to balanced regional development and the creation of better living conditions for all citizens of Montenegro.
