Jubilant Pharmova has significantly expanded its manufacturing capabilities by launching its third sterile injectable line at the Spokane facility in Washington, USA. This new line marks a major investment of US$132 million and enhances the facility’s production capacity by 50%.

The introduction of this sterile injectable line aligns with Jubilant Pharmova’s broader strategy to increase domestic sterile manufacturing capacity in the United States. The new line, operated by subsidiary Jubilant HollisterStier (JHS), has already commenced production with its first batch, which will contribute to revenue generation immediately.

Investment and Technological Advancements

The investment not only amplifies the capacity at the Spokane facility but also supports complex injectable programs, enhancing operational precision through the incorporation of advanced isolator technology. This technology is designed to improve sterility assurance and throughput, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards.

Chris Preti, CEO of CDMO Sterile Injectables at Jubilant HollisterStier, described the launch as a “defining moment” for the company. He emphasized that the operationalization of the third line is just the beginning, hinting at the forthcoming fourth line that will further increase capacity, create numerous jobs, and bolster the U.S. pharmaceutical supply chain.

Jubilant HollisterStier serves a wide range of global pharmaceutical clients, including five of the top twenty firms, and boasts a remarkable customer retention rate of 92%. The company adheres to stringent regulatory requirements from authorities including the U.S. FDA, EMA, PMDA Japan, Health Canada, and ANVISA Brazil. This compliance underscores its commitment to quality and reliability in delivering life-saving therapies to patients worldwide.

As the demand for sterile injectables continues to grow, Jubilant Pharmova’s strategic expansion in Spokane positions the company as a key player in the industry, poised to meet the needs of its clients while contributing to local job creation and strengthening the pharmaceutical supply chain.
